BREAKING: Trump Staffer Found Murdered In Florida
We bring you this tragic breaking news report with a heavy heart after learning that one of our own has been shot and killed apparently by his former roommate one no less. Authorities say that GOP staffer Nick Corvino was shot 13 times while he was asleep in his Osceola County home. Corvino was a Trump supporter and helped secure him his victory in Florida by acting as the political director for him in the sunshine state.
His body was found Tuesday morning after an alarm was triggered in his apartment prompting responders to take to the scene. They were not expecting to find the bloody carnage. Crovino was shot no less than 13 times and suffered gunshot wounds to his head, back, and legs. Officers responding to the scene were met by his roommate, Scott Waddell, who was covered in the victims blood from head to toe.
Corvino was found lying in bed. He was taken completely by surprise in this horrible act of malice and cowardice. Waddell, for his part, was immediately taken into custody and booked on charges of first degree murder and is currently interred at the Osceola County Jail. Appearing in shock, the perpetrator repeatedly asked officers to confirm that Corvino was in fact dead while pretending to not remember what happened.
“He repeated numerous times he was fine but could not remember what happened before the cops showed up today at his home,” according to the NY Post which secured a copy of the affidavit. More from the Post:
Covino was a central Florida regional manager for Florida Chief Financial Officer Jeff Atwater, according to his LinkedIn profile. He worked as a field director on Florida Attorney General Pam Bondi’s re-election campaign, and also served as a former district administrator for Florida state Rep. Jason Brodeur, who is a Republican.
Bondi said Tuesday that she was “heartbroken” over his death.
“Nick Corvino was a great young man who had his entire life ahead of him,” she said.
Waddell is playing innocent and claims he has no recollection of the events, that he just “woke up scared” in the middle of the night but does not recall shooting the Trump staffer. He allegedly takes medication and is mentally unstable according to officers with knowledge on the matter:
Waddell said he and Corvino had been best friends for about 10 years and roommates for two years. He also told deputies that he has been mentally disabled for about 15 years and takes numerous medications for his mental health.
The detective then began asking Waddell about the shooting. Waddell said he and Corvino were hanging out in their living room Monday night drinking Bud Light and television.
Waddell said they both had between 10 and 15 beers each but he was not drunk and still remembered to take his medication before he went to bed at about 12:30 a.m. Tuesday.
This is a disgusting act without any sense or cause. If Waddell is responsible, and all facts seem to indicate that he is, it is imperative that he is not allowed to hide behind any mental condition. It is clear that at best he is a menace and danger to society and at worst he is a liar trying to shield himself from justice. May God allow Nick Corvino to rest peacefully and may you keep his friends and family in your hearts and prayers.
